Procurement & Insurance Manager

Location: Remote-first; the position is expected to be performed outside Ontario, with coordination across North American Eastern Time (ET) and Central European Time (CET/CEST).

What you will do

• Own a unified renewal calendar for vendor agreements and insurance policies, ensuring timely decisions before renewals or expiries.
• Lead vendor renewals and commercial negotiations using usage, spend, and contract data to improve pricing, terms, and commitments.
• Review order forms, MSAs, SOWs, DPAs, and SLAs for commercial and risk terms, escalating issues to Legal or Security when needed.
• Manage insurance renewals, broker and carrier relationships, certificates, endorsements, and in-life policy changes.
• Maintain procurement and insurance records and report on renewals, negotiations, savings, costs, and coverage risks.
• Partner with Accounts Payable and Accounting on purchasing controls, invoices, spend cards, billing reconciliation, budgeting, forecasting, process documentation, and AI-assisted information management.

Requirements

• Direct experience negotiating commercial agreements with vendors, with explainable outcomes.
• Hands-on procurement experience managing renewals, notice periods, auto-renewals, and commercial agreement reviews.
• Working knowledge of commercial insurance, including policy wording, certificates, endorsements, and renewal submissions.
• Advanced spreadsheet and analytical skills, including cost comparisons, deal-structure modeling, and tracking data across multiple entities.
• Experience using AI tools to organize information, prepare documents, support drafting, filter material, and compare alternatives.
• Ability to manage competing deadlines independently in a remote environment and coordinate across ET and CET/CEST.
• Credibility and persistence with vendors, brokers, senior leaders, Legal, and Security, with sound judgment about when to escalate risk.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.

Nice to have

• Commercial insurance renewal experience is strongly preferred, although candidates with strong procurement backgrounds and less insurance exposure will be considered.
• Experience with liability or litigation-related insurance matters, technology or SaaS businesses, or multi-brand environments.
