Senior Systems Engineer (Autonomous Vehicles)

Salary: $135,000–$155,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Integrate software, hardware, and product requirements across the ADK 6.0 autonomous driving program.
• Own systems integration and validation activities and define metrics verifying system and subsystem requirements.
• Create, maintain, review, and refine technical system and subsystem requirements and specifications.
• Support system design, verification criteria, and requirements reviews with test and validation teams.
• Identify, negotiate, and resolve cross-functional trade-offs while aligning system architects, controls teams, and OEM platform partners.
• Evaluate industry and regulatory requirements, perform FMEA analysis, track findings to resolution, and identify process gaps.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• 5+ years of experience in automotive engineering working on software, hardware, or combined hardware/software products.
• Detailed knowledge of requirements management and requirement-based design.
• Demonstrated ability to lead system integration and validation across hardware and software domains.
• Working knowledge of vehicle electrical/electronic architecture and in-vehicle networking.
• Strong working knowledge of ADAS and autonomous vehicle systems.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with strong organization, attention to detail, multitasking ability, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to influence, negotiate, and drive alignment across cross-functional teams and external partners.
• Understanding of agile startup and engineering principles, systems thinking, and a willingness to learn and improve; passion for self-driving cars.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience integrating and validating combined hardware/software systems at vehicle or platform level.
• Experience supporting OEM platform programs or working directly with OEM partners.
• Knowledge of automotive and autonomous vehicle technologies such as LIDAR, radar, Ethernet, and CAN.
• Experience with requirements management tooling and requirement-based design.
• Experience in autonomous vehicles, machine learning, robotics, IoT, or mobile applications.
• Startup experience.
