HV Systems Integration Engineer (Electric Vehicles)

Location: Garden Grove, California, United States. The role includes travel for 50% of the time within the US and internationally for troubleshooting and commissioning.

Salary: $120,000–$150,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Own end-to-end commissioning and system bring-up for MW-scale generators, battery-based auxiliary power systems, inverters, and other high-power systems.
• Develop high-voltage system architectures, integrate protection equipment, and support compliance with UL and automotive standards.
• Coordinate interfaces between high-voltage components, SCADA, and vehicle or grid networks using CAN, Modbus TCP, I2C, optical links, and SPI.
• Write Python and C/C++ scripts to automate bring-up procedures, sequence high-power runs, and log real-time performance data.
• Diagnose field failures, perform root-cause analysis, and provide feedback to firmware and hardware engineering teams.
• Collaborate with electrical, systems, firmware, mechanical, and thermal engineers; create integration and bring-up manuals for customers and internal teams.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in electrical systems integration and commissioning.
• Advanced understanding of electrical engineering concepts and strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to develop solutions with minimal requirements and iterate quickly with an ownership mindset.
• BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field.
• Proficiency in MATLAB, CATIA, and Capital.
• Ability to travel 50% of the time within the US and internationally.

Nice to have

• Experience with generator and battery-based MW-scale high-power systems.
• Experience with large-scale data-center deployments.
• Fast-paced commissioning and troubleshooting experience at customer sites.
• Previous startup experience.
