Systems Engineer, Autonomy Verification and Validation (Autonomous Vehicles)

Zoox is developing a full-stack autonomous mobility solution and a purpose-built robotaxi for safe deployment in cities.

What you will do

• Establish verification and validation strategies and methodologies for the autonomous software stack.
• Develop simulation test plans and efficient test programs covering requirements and driving scenarios.
• Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, and results.
• Troubleshoot field issues and trace failures to the responsible subsystems.
• Analyze test data, report results, and develop automated data extraction tools for analysis and reporting.
• Collaborate across program management, legal, software, operations, and systems engineering.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in automotive, aerospace, robotics, electrical, mechanical, or systems engineering.
• 6+ years of systems engineering experience in the automotive, robotics, or aerospace industry.
• Strong analytical skills and hands-on engineering experience.
• Cross-disciplinary background, curiosity, and ability to work through ambiguity.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• Experience developing integration or structured test plans for safety-critical robotic systems or autonomous vehicles, including ADAS such as AEB.
• Familiarity with C or C++.
• Experience with test scripting and data analysis using Python and SQL.
