Senior Software Engineer, Developer Platform (JavaScript/TypeScript)

Location: United States — hybrid workplace, with the option to work fully remotely or from the nearest Moonbase.

What you will do

• Design and build APIs, SDKs, embedded components, reference applications, sandboxes and developer tooling for external developers.
• Turn authentication, identity, KYC, payment and purchasing capabilities into reusable platform modules.
• Develop secure browser and mobile integration patterns across iframes, web views and native applications.
• Own the developer journey from credentials and authentication through quotes, payment methods, transaction state and live transactions.
• Design versioning, compatibility, migration, documentation, error handling, logs and observability that reduce integration time and support needs.
• Build and operate payment-critical distributed systems with retries, idempotency, state recovery, graceful degradation and consistent web, iOS and Android behaviour.

Requirements

• Experience building external developer products such as APIs, SDKs, embedded components or integration tooling used by third-party developers.
• Strong browser or mobile depth, including sessions, storage, cross-origin communication and embedded experiences below the framework level.
• Strong JavaScript and TypeScript fundamentals with production client-side or SDK infrastructure experience.
• Experience with API and SDK design, including versioning, backwards compatibility, documentation, error design and safe migrations.
• Distributed-systems experience handling duplicate, delayed or out-of-order events and failing dependencies.
• Product judgement for turning complex platform capabilities into understandable, adoptable developer interfaces.
• Ownership of developer-facing software from design through launch, adoption and ongoing production support.

• Payment APIs, checkout SDKs, embedded financial products or payment-method integrations.
• Products similar to Stripe Elements, Stripe.js, Plaid Link or Braintree client SDKs.
• Secure iframes, web views, postMessage or cross-origin browser infrastructure.
• SDK development across web, iOS or Android.
• Sandboxes, test environments, reference applications or developer documentation.
• Webhooks, idempotency, transaction state machines and payment orchestration.
• Authentication, identity or KYC integrations.
• Cryptocurrency, wallets or digital-asset products.
• TypeScript, Node, React, GCP, PostgreSQL, Redis or Kubernetes.
