Software Engineer (Banking)

Location: Remote in the United States

Salary: $150K–$220K base salary

What you will do

• Lead the technical design and delivery of banking features that scale with the customer base and support a seamless mobile experience.
• Set architectural standards and best practices for code quality, performance, security, and reliability across banking services.
• Own technical approaches to complex challenges involving sensitive financial data and real-time money movement.
• Mentor and develop engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and hands-on collaboration.
• Partner with product, design, risk, and compliance to shape the roadmap and deliver production software.
• Create and maintain clear technical documentation for a growing remote organization.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional experience in backend or full-stack software engineering, including technical leadership of projects or teams.
• Proven success designing, building, and scaling production-grade APIs and distributed systems, ideally in banking, payments, or regulated financial services.
• Experience with sensitive financial data and money movement systems, including ledgers, account management, ACH, or card processing.
• Proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript or similar modern backend frameworks.
• Familiarity with microservices, Kubernetes, and AWS.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, including mentoring engineers and driving technical decisions across teams.
• Drive and proactivity, with the ability to build and execute in a fast-moving environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with mobile or user-facing applications, ideally React Native.
• Familiarity with TypeScript, Node.js, NestJS, React Native, Kubernetes, AWS, and modern cloud-native software engineering practices.
