Agile Product Owner (Healthcare)

Location: Hybrid in Madrid, Spain; 39 hours. Some flexibility is required to work with international health stakeholders across multiple regions and time zones.

What you will do

• Translate product strategy, roadmap priorities, and release train backlogs into clear, value-focused Scrum team backlogs and executable user stories.
• Act as the customer voice, lead feature decomposition and backlog refinement, and maintain Jira backlog quality through approval of stories before Done or Accepted.
• Support product vision, feature refinement, PI planning cycles, objectives, delivery milestones, and predictable team execution with the Agile Product Manager.
• Collaborate with developers, testers, Scrum Masters, QA, UAT, Customer Experience, UX/UI, business subject matter experts, and stakeholders to manage dependencies and delivery quality.
• Establish analytics for utilization, customer experience, delivery performance, quality, and predictability; provide actionable insights for product evolution.
• Drive continuous improvement, learning, feedback, value validation, data-informed decisions, and a psychologically safe team culture.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Strong English language skills required.
• Strong business and delivery acumen, customer-centricity, empathy, ownership, accountability, attention to quality, and continuous-improvement mindset.
• Ability to translate strategy into executable outcomes and combine customer, data and analytics, operations, technology, and regulatory perspectives into balanced solutions.
• Strong collaboration, stakeholder management, relationship-building, and credibility across functions and lines of business.
• Technical and business competence sufficient to interface with cross-functional partners and assess trade-offs involving business value, delivery speed, technical considerations, and regulatory considerations.
• High attention to detail, ability to manage multiple competing priorities, strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Adaptive, pragmatic, and creative approach to changing circumstances, resources, and direction.
• Agile Certification: SAFe Product Owner / Product Manager, either before or after hire.

Nice to have

• Experience with Jira or an equivalent tool.
• Knowledge of Agile methodology, unless compensated by deep industry or business experience or Agile delivery experience.
• Experience in healthcare, unless compensated by deep industry or business experience or Agile delivery experience.
• Technical competence in data analysis, data pipelines, APIs, machine learning, generative AI, and/or their regulation.
