Intern Engineering Designer, Roads & Highways

Location: US | CA | Oakland - 1111 Broadway; site visits or inspections are required.

Salary: $24–27 per hour.

What you will do

• Become familiar with engineering plans and details and perform quantity take-offs.
• Assist with project monitoring, scheduling, computer modeling, and progress reports.
• Support the production of engineering drawings, calculations, and cost estimates under close supervision of senior engineers.
• Apply appropriate engineering codes and standards to engineering deliverables.
• Collaborate with engineers, drafters, and support staff.
• Attend site visits or inspections.

Requirements

• Be currently enrolled as a third-year undergraduate student in an accredited Civil Engineering program.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and engineering software.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear documentation and professional interaction with clients and colleagues.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Strong commitment to integrity and ethical, fair, and responsible behavior.
• Commitment to innovation and continuous learning.

Nice to have

• Proficiency or experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or MicroStation.
