Director of Technical Program Management

Location: Hybrid; must be located near San Francisco, CA, Sunnyvale, CA, or Seattle, WA. The posting also lists Australia as a country.

Salary: $268,600–$395,000 USD annual base pay, plus potential equity grants.

What you will do

• Lead and develop 12 TPMs supporting nearly 1,300 engineers across five strategic engineering organizations.
• Partner with VP and Senior Director-level Engineering and Product leaders on portfolio strategy, investment tradeoffs, technical sequencing, risk management, and operating models.
• Support the scaling of hirify.global’s real-time delivery network, advertising platform, merchant operating system, and logistics offerings including Drive and Parcels.
• Establish mechanisms for technical readiness, decision-making, execution cadence, cross-functional alignment, and accountability.
• Lead participation in Pedregal, a multi-year global platform re-architecture across hirify.global, Wolt, and Deliveroo while maintaining production availability.
• Shape AI-enabled ways of working and the future operating model of the TPM organization.

Requirements

• 12+ years of TPM experience, including 7+ years leading TPM teams.
• Experience leading a team supporting a broad and complex technical portfolio in a high-growth technology company.
• Demonstrated ability to develop talent, build culture, hire, coach, and promote strong TPMs.
• Strong technical and business judgment, including prioritization, investment decisions, and sequencing tradeoffs.
• Technical credibility in architecture, platform migrations, system dependencies, reliability, and risk, with the ability to translate complexity into decisions and execution plans.
• Experience leading large-scale, multi-year transformations across multiple organizations, systems, products, and stakeholders.
• Strategic ability to resolve ambiguous business, technical, operational, and organizational issues.
• Experience building operating mechanisms covering ownership, decision forums, execution cadences, risk management, and accountability.
• Exceptional communication, influence, trust-building, and alignment skills with TPM peers and senior engineering leaders.
• Practical fluency with AI-enabled ways of working and a point of view on how technology can improve execution.
• Experience operating with globally distributed teams across organizational cultures, time zones, and business contexts.
