Linux Administrator Co-op

Location: Waterdown, Ontario, Canada; 16-month co-op term starting May 2027

Salary: $23 CAD/hour

What you will do

• Maintain and support Linux endpoints for performance and security.
• Develop and manage Ansible playbooks for configuration management and automation.
• Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot Docker containers supporting applications and services.
• Provide administration and user support for Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket.
• Plan, execute, and manage small upgrade projects with minimal disruption.
• Provide customer support, resolve technical issues, and maintain clear communication and documentation.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Linux endpoint management and strong understanding of Linux operating systems and command-line tools.
• Strong experience with Ansible for automation and configuration management.
• Solid knowledge of Docker containerization.
• Experience with Atlassian tools including Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket.
• Ability to manage small upgrade projects from planning through execution.
• Excellent customer support, communication, problem-solving, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Must be able to complete a 16-month co-op term starting in May 2027 and be currently enrolled in good standing in a co-op program at an accredited university.
• Must be able to obtain registration with the Canadian Controlled Goods Program and a positive security assessment.
• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols.

Nice to have

• Relevant certifications such as RHCSA or RHCE.
• Experience with Bash or Python scripting.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices.
