Team Lead Platform Engineering

Location: London (Moorgate), with 2 days in the office.

What you will do

• Lead and mentor the Cloud Platform Engineering team, providing constructive feedback and supporting continuous improvement.
• Drive team performance by removing bottlenecks, fostering accountability, and maintaining consistent delivery and resource efficiency.
• Stay hands-on in Cloud and Platform Engineering while leading technical execution.
• Define and enforce platform engineering practices for consistency, scalability, and operational excellence.
• Partner with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, QA, and other stakeholders to align strategy and deliver outcomes.
• Embed DevSecOps principles, including security, monitoring, compliance, automation, and proactive risk mitigation, while driving AI adoption.

Requirements

• Experience managing Cloud or Platform Engineering teams.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and working with Engineering, QA, and other stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical audiences.
• Deep understanding of modern Cloud and Platform Engineering practices and scalable system architectures.
• Experience building a culture of reliability, performance, and continuous improvement.
• Expertise in Azure, cloud technologies, and tools commonly used in Cloud and Platform Engineering.
• Proven experience working with and scaling platforms supporting fast-paced containerised environments.

Hiring process

• 30-minute introductory call with a Talent Partner.
• 60-minute technical interview with the Engineering Manager and People Partner, followed by a 60-minute live technical challenge with the Platform team.
• 60-minute case study with Product, the Engineering Manager, and the Head of Platform Operations.
