Senior Engineer, Mechanical Systems Engineering (Gas Purification)

Location: Kulim, Kedah, Malaysia; full-time onsite role.

What you will do

• Design and refine mechanical components, assemblies, and subsystems for UHP gas purification systems.
• Integrate mechanical systems with electrical, controls, software, and other subsystems while applying system-level knowledge of architectures, P&IDs, gas flow paths, operating sequences, and interfaces.
• Size and select components to meet performance, safety, reliability, manufacturability, and compliance requirements.
• Create and maintain solid models, drawings, specifications, BOMs, procedures, test plans, reports, build records, and other product-development and manufacturing documentation.
• Conduct calculations, simulations, testing, validation, qualification, FAT, STP, commissioning, and production-build support.
• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis, optimize purification processes, support product transfer and manufacturing readiness, and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement to closure.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• 5–8 years of mechanical engineering experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 3–6 years of relevant engineering experience with a master’s degree.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD and simulation tools such as SolidWorks Simulation or ANSYS.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems engineering, component design and selection, fluid dynamics, system integration, and complex system and process troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting mechanical, process, test, or system-integration issues during assembly, testing, or commissioning.
• Experience with SAP ERP, especially BOMs, routings, and documentation, together with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely.
• Ability to work collaboratively, manage multiple projects and tasks, prioritize workload independently, meet strict deadlines, and mentor less experienced engineers.
• Experience working in a global company with cross-site collaboration, plus a proactive mindset and interest in innovation and sustainability.

Nice to have

• Deep understanding of purification technologies, advanced analytical and simulation capabilities, advanced fluid dynamics, and process simulation software.
• Experience owning complex engineering work from concept through validation and manufacturing release, guiding design decisions, and mentoring engineers.
• Experience with product transfer, first builds, qualification, FAT, commissioning, supplier coordination, and production issue resolution in a regulated or high-purity equipment environment.
