CAD/EDA Tools Software Engineer

Location: Hybrid, US, Oregon, Hillsboro; employees split time between the assigned hirify.global site and off-site work.

Annual salary: $111,030–$211,200 USD.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and debug software tools, flows, and methodologies for design automation and hardware design workflows.
• Capture internal stakeholder requirements and translate user stories into technical solutions.
• Write functional and test code, perform unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, and participate in code reviews.
• Develop scripts and automation frameworks for physical design, place and route, and DRC verification.
• Automate build and deployment pipelines and support CAD software and EDA tool administration, deployment, and maintenance.
• Develop distributed-computing job management tools, standardize workflows, and collaborate with hardware design, process design, and manufacturing teams.

Requirements

• Master of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field by the date of hire.
• At least 6 months of experience with programming and scripting languages such as Python or C++.
• At least 6 months of experience working in Linux environments, with version management systems, and with EDA tools.

Nice to have

• Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field.
• At least 12 months of experience with industry-standard EDA tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, Synopsys ICV, or Siemens Calibre for physical design, place and route scripts, and DRC verification.
• Experience developing job management tools on distributed computing systems.
• Experience automating processes through workflows, templates, and similar methods.
• Knowledge of CAD software administration and deployment.
