CAD/EDA Tools Software Engineer (EDA)

Location: Hillsboro, Oregon, United States; hybrid work model with time split between the assigned Intel site and off-site work.

Annual salary range: $111,030–$211,200 USD.

Foundry Technology Manufacturing develops engineering tools and methodologies supporting hardware design, process design, and manufacturing.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and debug software tools, automation flows, and methodologies for design automation environments.
• Capture internal user stories and requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Write functional and test code and perform unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Develop scripts and automation frameworks for physical design, place and route, and DRC verification workflows.
• Automate build and deployment pipelines, support CAD and EDA infrastructure, and maintain tool administration and deployment.
• Develop distributed-computing job management tools, standardize workflows and reusable automation components, and participate in code reviews.

Requirements

• Master of Science degree by the date of hire in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field.
• At least 6 months of experience with programming and scripting languages such as Python or C++.
• At least 6 months of experience working with Linux environments, version management systems, and EDA tools.

Nice to have

• Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field.
• At least 12 months of experience with industry-standard EDA tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, Synopsys ICV, or Siemens Calibre for physical design, place and route scripting, and DRC verification.
• At least 12 months of experience developing job management tools on distributed computing systems.
• Experience automating processes through workflows, templates, and other standardized methods.
• Knowledge of CAD software administration and deployment.
