Sr. Manager, IT Quality Assurance (QA Automation)

Location: Hybrid work in Chicago, Illinois, with a minimum of 2 days per week onsite at 70 W Madison St. Candidates must be legally eligible to work at the specified location and hold a valid work or study permit where applicable.

Salary: $160,000–$180,000 annually for the Chicago market, based on experience, qualifications, and location.

What you will do

• Lead QA professionals through coaching, performance management, career development, and inclusive team leadership.
• Define quality engineering strategy, test standards, resource plans, delivery milestones, and measurable quality outcomes.
• Oversee functional, integration, regression, end-to-end, web, API, and automated testing, including test coverage, defect management, test data, environments, and release readiness.
• Drive continuous improvement through automation, tooling, CI/CD alignment, AI-enabled testing, and scalable quality engineering practices.
• Partner with engineering, product, business, compliance, audit, and vendor stakeholders to manage risks and resolve complex quality issues.

Requirements

• 8–12 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with experience leading QA or quality engineering in complex enterprise environments.
• Deep expertise in test strategy, test planning, defect management, automation frameworks, and functional, integration, regression, end-to-end, web, and API testing.
• Hands-on experience with Selenium and Playwright and the ability to build and scale enterprise-quality automation solutions.
• Advanced knowledge of object-oriented programming, JIRA, GitHub, GitHub Actions, Node, Python, Bruno, Postman, scripting, and SQL.
• 1–2 years of hands-on experience using AI tools to build test automation and improve testing efficiency, coverage, and engineering outcomes.
• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or a related field, or equivalent certifications or relevant bootcamp completion.

Nice to have

• Experience with Robot Framework or similar Gherkin-based automation frameworks.
• Familiarity with banking products, services, and industry regulations.
• Certifications in quality assurance, test automation, Agile, or project delivery.
