Government Supply Manager (Aerospace)

Location: Hybrid, with required residency in Arizona only; local travel and attendance at onsite meetings, supplier engagements, and other in-person business activities required as needed.

Salary: $99,000–$156,000 annually. For specific work locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area: $123,000–$184,000 annually.

What you will do

• Own procurement strategy across development, qualification, and production phases for fully assembled and finished electronic products.
• Identify, qualify, onboard, and manage contract manufacturers, including competitive sourcing, negotiations, supplier awards, and supply agreements.
• Manage supplier delivery, cost, quality, lead-time, capacity, and performance; resolve shortages, late deliveries, allocation issues, and escalations.
• Develop dual-source, contingency, mitigation, recovery, supply continuity, and cost-reduction strategies.
• Support NPI, supplier qualification, production ramp readiness, design-for-manufacturability, engineering changes, alternate-part qualification, and transitions from prototype through LRIP to full-rate production.
• Ensure procurement compliance with FAR/DFARS and applicable government requirements; maintain traceability and support audits, reporting, and government program stakeholders.

Requirements

• 10+ years of directly applicable supply chain experience.
• Experience managing suppliers in a manufacturing, technology, aerospace, or complex operational environment, with broad commodity knowledge.
• Working knowledge of federal and defense contracting requirements, including DFARS, FAR, and ITAR.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, ERP/MRP systems, and supply planning tools.
• Bachelor’s degree focused on Business, Supply Chain, or a related field, or related experience.
• US citizenship.
• Ability to travel up to 25%, including local travel and onsite meetings, supplier engagements, and other in-person business activities.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with space-rated government programs.
• Experience with contract manufacturers, supply constraints, shortages, production escalations, NPI, high-rate manufacturing, or production ramp environments.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills, with the ability to influence internal stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, problem-solving, conflict-management, and data-analysis skills.
• Technical understanding of mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical components.
• Experience in aerospace, defense, autonomous systems, or space industries.
• Ability to negotiate pricing, business, and legal terms and manage competing priorities in fast-paced environments.
• Ability to foster collaboration, influence others, act as a change agent, adapt to change, and work across varied commodities.
