Director of Corporate Accounting

Location: Hybrid position based in Denver, Colorado, with a combination of in-office and remote work.

Salary: $110,000–$120,000 annually. Compensation may vary by geographic location for candidates working outside Colorado.

What you will do

• Lead and develop the corporate accounting team, set priorities, review work, and build team capability.
• Own month-end and year-end close across all legal entities, including close calendars and consolidated financial statements.
• Oversee reconciliations, corporate cards, employee expenses, variance analysis, and monthly business reviews with FP&A.
• Prepare internal and external financial reporting, including consolidated statements with footnote disclosures and franchisor statements for Franchise Disclosure Documents.
• Lead technical accounting for revenue recognition, leases, inventory, fixed assets, sales and use tax compliance, and internal controls.
• Drive process improvements, automation, ERP initiatives, audits, M&A support, purchase accounting, and acquired-entity integration.

Requirements

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; public accounting and corporate accounting experience preferred.
• Supervisory or team leadership experience is strongly preferred.
• BS/BA degree in accounting or finance is required; CPA is highly preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including ASC 606 and ASC 842; franchisor accounting experience is a plus.
• Experience leading financial statement audits and multi-entity consolidations.
• Strong technical, analytical, problem-solving, written communication, verbal communication, and presentation skills, with strict attention to detail.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with other Microsoft Office software.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, influence and collaborate across the organization, exercise sound judgment, and convert plans into action.

Nice to have

• Franchisor accounting experience.
• Franchise or multi-unit industry experience, such as restaurant, retail, personal services, or distribution.
• Oracle EBS, NetSuite, GL Wand, and Expensify experience.
• CPA certification.
