Global Engagement Associate Advisor

Location: hirify.global Vancouver Campus, Vancouver, BC, Canada; full-time campus-based role. Evening and weekend work may be required.

Salary: $5,692.25–$8,179.50 CAD monthly.

What you will do

• Coordinate and implement inbound and outbound international learning, exchange, research, and student mobility programs.
• Provide individual and group advising to visiting international students and hirify.global students applying to partner-university programs before, during, and after their international experiences.
• Manage orientations, workshops, information sessions, pre-departure programming, recruitment events, and other educational initiatives.
• Support application, admission, acceptance-letter, transcript, course-selection, housing, and transfer-credit processes, including resolving system and information issues.
• Develop marketing, communications, web content, reports, research briefs, and program materials while maintaining partnerships with hirify.global units, faculties, and international universities.
• Review and improve processes, policies, information systems, and student services; may recruit, train, supervise, evaluate, and discipline student staff and volunteers.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline and one to two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Willingness to respect diverse perspectives, including perspectives that conflict with one’s own.
• Commitment to enhancing personal awareness, knowledge, and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Nice to have

• Post-secondary advising or other student services experience.
• Experience communicating with a broad range of stakeholders.
• Excellent listening, written, verbal, organizational, time-management, interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Cross-cultural sensitivity and the ability to work effectively with students, staff, faculty, and international partners.
• Understanding of issues facing diverse, underrepresented, equity-deserving, 2SLGBTQI+, and IBPOC students, with a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Ability to work independently with initiative and effectively as part of a team, managing varied responsibilities and prioritizing tasks.
• Professional attitude, integrity, confidentiality, and excellent work ethic.
• Information technology skills, including word processing, desktop publishing, report design, and internet use.
• Previous experience in an international setting; academic international learning experience is a considerable asset.
