Clinical Research Accounting Coordinator (Clinical Research)

Location: Brookline, MA, US; hybrid work with 2–3 days onsite per week

Salary: $50,800–$59,400 per year

What you will do

• Submit account creation requests for new clinical research contract budgets and maintain study account and IRB tracking records.
• Maintain payment contact lists and monitor payment activity for clinical research studies.
• Pursue collections from extramural research sponsors and funding sources, documenting follow-up and maintaining organized accounts receivable files.
• Manage the clinical research accounting mailbox and respond to accounts receivable and payment status inquiries.
• Receive checks and wire payments, enter payments into the Clinical Trial Management System, retain payment records, and submit payments to Finance for deposit.
• Prepare accounts receivable reports, forecasts, and financial analyses; escalate complex issues and invoice revision requests to senior accounting staff.

Requirements

• High school diploma required.
• Effective oral and written communication, strong listening skills, and strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to perform basic math and accounting functions and accurately analyze and interpret financial data.
• Proficiency in data entry and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• MCA Certification required within one year of hire.
• No prior experience required.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Working knowledge of the clinical trials lifecycle.
