Equity Research Associate, Business & Information Services

Location: San Francisco, California, United States; office-based role

Salary: USD 150,000–225,000 per year

What you will do

• Conduct fundamental equity research across approximately 30 public companies in the Business & Information Services sector.
• Build, maintain, and enhance three-statement financial models, earnings analyses, industry databases, and company forecasts.
• Lead coverage responsibilities for assigned stocks, including financial modeling, earnings analysis, research production, and day-to-day coverage maintenance.
• Perform primary and secondary research using company filings, industry sources, proprietary data, and expert insights.
• Monitor company developments, industry trends, competitive dynamics, and macroeconomic events to identify investment implications.
• Produce research reports, thematic projects, client presentations, and investment communications for institutional investors, management teams, and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in sell-side or buy-side research, investment banking, valuation, or a related analytical role.
• Strong accounting, finance, and valuation knowledge, including the ability to independently build three-statement financial models from a blank Excel worksheet.
• Exceptional attention to detail, research ability, analytical judgment, and capacity to develop evidence-based investment conclusions.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ownership mentality, intellectual curiosity, and commitment to continuous professional development.
