Lead Developer (AI)

Location: Remote; occasional travel may be required for program-specific working sessions. The role involves typical office environments and outside locations and requires lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds.

Salary: $140,000–$180,000 annually, plus eligibility for an annual bonus.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and deploy enterprise AI solutions for productivity, automation, and business value.
• Build enterprise copilots, intelligent assistants, knowledge discovery platforms, document intelligence solutions, and business process automation.
• Prototype AI capabilities and evolve successful proofs of concept into scalable enterprise solutions.
• Architect and deploy cloud-native applications using Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and Azure services.
• Provide technical leadership, architecture guidance, mentoring, and hands-on coding for complex or business-critical work.
• Collaborate with business analysts, functional leads, architects, security, Basis, testing teams, and systems-integration partners while communicating technical decisions, risks, and tradeoffs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 8–10 years of software engineering, application development, or solution architecture experience.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience building and deploying AI or Generative AI solutions in production environments.
• Strong Python development skills; experience with REST APIs, microservices, distributed systems, modern software architecture, and design patterns.
• Proven React, Next.js, and TypeScript development experience.
• Experience with Agentic AI frameworks and orchestration, LLM evaluation and optimization, AI workflow orchestration, and multi-agent systems.
• Experience with RAG, enterprise search, vector databases, embeddings, semantic search, hybrid search, knowledge retrieval, and retrieval optimization.
• Experience with Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI Service, Azure AI Search, Azure Document Intelligence, Azure Storage, Azure Functions, Azure App Services, and Azure Kubernetes Service.
• Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server, including database design, data modeling, query optimization, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
• Experience with LangGraph, LangChain, Semantic Kernel, or LlamaIndex; Docker and Kubernetes production workloads; Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions; CI/CD; monitoring and observability tools such as Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Grafana, or Dynatrace.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve production issues involving databases, APIs, applications, and infrastructure.

Nice to have

• Experience building enterprise copilots, AI assistants, or intelligent automation solutions.
• Experience with MCP, GraphRAG, knowledge graph architecture, and RAG-based applications.
• Experience integrating AI solutions with ERP, SAP S/4HANA, CRM, document management, or enterprise business applications.
• Familiarity with Databricks, Delta Lake, or modern data engineering platforms.
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading development teams.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer.
