Sr Software Engineer, Cloud - Vulnerability Management (Hybrid)

Location: Sunnyvale, California, USA; hybrid schedule requiring 2–3 days per week in the office.

Base salary: $140,000–$215,000 per year for U.S. candidates, with bonus and equity eligibility.

What you will do

• Design and build high-throughput, low-latency backend services and APIs using Golang and Python.
• Architect and operate cloud-native infrastructure across AWS and GCP, including S3, SQS, Kubernetes, and KEDA.
• Build and maintain Kafka-based event-streaming pipelines for near-real-time vulnerability event processing.
• Develop risk intelligence capabilities for attack-path analysis, posture scoring, remediation automation, and reasoning over continuously changing security data.
• Partner with security researchers and platform teams to deliver integrated capabilities and own end-to-end product delivery.
• Ensure service reliability through performance profiling, incident response, root-cause analysis, observability, testing, and continuous re-engineering.

Requirements

• 10–15 years of backend engineering experience.
• Production experience with Golang or Java.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, including S3 and SQS.
• Experience with Kafka or other event-streaming platforms.
• Strong database skills with Cassandra, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, Redis, or similar distributed data stores.
• Hands-on experience with frontier-model SDKs such as Anthropic or OpenAI and AI-assisted development tools, including a realistic understanding of their capabilities and limitations.
• Experience using AI technologies to improve decision-making, workflows, efficiency, and business outcomes.
• Effective communication at all organizational levels, strong collaboration skills, and experience working in a global team.
• Commitment to software quality through unit testing, code review, continuous integration, observability, and operability.

Nice to have

• Cybersecurity, vulnerability management, or cybersecurity platform experience.
• Kubernetes and event-driven autoscaling experience, including KEDA.
• Observability tooling experience with Splunk, Grafana, LogScale, or similar tools.
• Understanding of Windows OS internals and the Windows API.
• Infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform, CDK, or similar tools.
• Experience with large-scale data acquisition or content pipeline systems.
• Experience with evaluation and observability tooling for agentic systems.
• Experience with RAG pipelines, vector stores, or retrieval-augmented agents.
• Experience with graph databases and complex data modeling.
