Software Engineering Advisor (Mainframe)

Location: Morris Plains, New Jersey, United States; hybrid work schedule.

Salary: $151,590–$186,100 per year. The role is also anticipated to be eligible for an annual bonus plan.

What you will do

• Provide technical support for mainframe applications and analyze application architecture, business requests, and incidents.
• Address complex application problems, resolve critical production incidents, and handle production alerts.
• Develop short-term fixes while permanent solutions are implemented, and automate business requests to reduce incidents.
• Collaborate with business partners to explain code analysis findings and deliver resolutions to critical incidents.
• Develop and enhance mainframe systems with batch and online capabilities while ensuring adherence to standards.
• Provide on-call production support, deployment validation, installation support, and support for testing, patches, and server upgrades.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in any Engineering field and 5 years of experience.
• Experience with Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM).
• Experience analyzing and resolving business application issues involving Adjustments, Benefits Administration, and struck instance tickets.
• Experience developing short-term fixes for critical issues while permanent fixes are applied.
• Experience using Remedy and ServiceNow to track and resolve issues within Service Level Agreements.
• Experience gathering business and functional requirements, identifying production problems, and providing solutions.
• Experience with validation, patch support, server upgrades, and Oracle support for Pega applications, including Benefits Administration, Adjustments, and Modular Network Management.
• Experience preparing test scripts, designing and coding solutions, implementing changes, and providing installation, deployment, and validation support.
• Experience with z/OS, COBOL, JCL, VSAM, CICS, DB2, XPEditor, InterTest, File-AID, Changeman, Endevor, Abendaid, SNOW, Pega 8X, and Azure.
