Software Engineer (C++)

Location: Mostly on-site, with four days per week in the office in Kansas City, Missouri; Chicago, Illinois; or the Overland Park, Kansas area. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

Salary: $97,750–$126,500 base salary per year, plus potential incentive compensation and long-term equity participation.

What you will do

• Design, develop, deploy, and support real-time systems for the Cboe Titanium exchange platform.
• Implement performant, reliable, maintainable solutions for technical projects with guidance from peers and mentors.
• Build and execute thorough tests in collaboration with the QA team.
• Participate in code reviews for personal and peer solutions.
• Improve system reliability, recoverability, fault tolerance, throughput, latency, and testability.

Requirements

• At least two years of experience with C++ or experience in another programming language with a strong desire to learn C++.
• Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
• Experience with Linux or UNIX-like systems and at least one scripting language such as Python.
• Experience with database systems and familiarity with SQL.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of financial exchanges.
