Senior Manager, Product & Tech Finance (SaaS)

Location: Hybrid in the California offices in Pleasanton; candidates within a reasonable commute to an office work in the office at least 3 days a week.

Salary: $175,000–$219,000 base pay annually, plus eligible short-term and long-term incentive programs and benefits.

What you will do

• Monitor, support, and track headcount with business partners and talent acquisition.
• Partner with Product and Engineering leaders on annual operating budgets, regular forecasts, and long-term strategic operating plans.
• Prepare and present monthly reporting packages, quarterly business reviews, and executive- and board-level materials.
• Analyze product performance, profitability trends, and variance drivers, and ensure the accuracy and granularity of product-line financial reporting with FP&A and accounting.
• Lead financial evaluation and business-case development for new products, features, and R&D initiatives, and manage a capital allocation framework.
• Develop data-driven models, participate in finance system enhancement projects, and use AI to improve finance processes.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in FP&A, FinOps, sales operations, finance, accounting, consulting, or a related business function.
• 6+ years of business partnership experience, preferably supporting software R&D or cloud functions as a finance business partner, FinOps, or sales operations professional.
• Strong technical, analytical, communication, influencing, and financial modeling skills, including modeling complex concepts and translating business metrics into financial measures.
• Finance system proficiency.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, mathematics, or another analytical field.

Nice to have

• Experience with Adaptive, SQL, Tableau, Looker, Hyperion, or Anaplan.
• Understanding of SaaS accounting principles and business metrics, including revenue recognition, ARR, and net dollar retention.
• Experience with full P&L modeling, including allocation methodology analysis and support.
• Experience serving as a finance partner to senior Product Management and Engineering leaders.
• Ability to present complex financial information and strategic recommendations to VP, SVP, and C-level executives.
• Experience querying and synthesizing large datasets from financial systems, product telemetry, and cloud billing.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, adapt to organizational change, think ahead, persistently drive initiatives forward, and contribute proactively.
