Sr. Section Manager - Construction Safety (Semiconductors)

Location: Fully onsite at the Essex, Vermont facility, Monday-Friday, 7:00am-4:00pm, with some flexibility for evenings and weekends based on business needs; occasional regional travel up to 10%.

Expected salary: $98,000-$176,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead site-wide construction safety programs, safety culture initiatives, coaching, engagement, and continuous improvement.
• Develop, implement, and maintain EHS&S programs, procedures, regulatory compliance activities, and company safety standards, including OSHA requirements.
• Lead a team of contractor Construction Safety Professionals and partner with site leadership, project managers, contractors, and employees.
• Identify hazards, assess risks, implement controls, and conduct field inspections, audits, pre-job reviews, behavioral observations, and safety assessments.
• Review safety documentation, investigate incidents and near misses, facilitate root cause analysis, and drive corrective actions to closure.
• Deliver training and technical guidance, analyze safety performance trends, support industrial hygiene and emergency response programs, and maintain safety records and reports.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of construction safety experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Experience with safety leadership, risk assessment, hazard recognition, contractor management, incident investigation, regulatory compliance, communication, influence, problem solving, accountability, and integrity.
• Project management skills, including the ability to innovate, execute relevant solutions, and navigate ambiguity.
• Strong written and verbal communication, planning, and organizational skills.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Ability to support the site Emergency Response team, including use of SCBA and Level A/B hazmat equipment, occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds, and wearing required PPE.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8-10 years of relevant experience in construction safety-related fields.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST), or equivalent certification.
• Thorough working understanding of OSHA Standards and Regulations 1910/1926.
