Buyer - Gas Power Generation

Location: Avon Office, United States; travel up to 25% may be required.

Salary: $61,220.00–$82,309.00 annually.

What you will do

• Plan, generate, adjust, and expedite purchase orders based on field requisitions, project information, drawing take-offs, bills of materials, bills of equipment, and inventory strategies.
• Track purchase orders, supplier deliveries, delays, constraints, and project impacts, and maintain supplier delivery information for project teams.
• Coordinate with suppliers on delivery, site access, transportation, ordering parameters, material quality, quantity discrepancies, invoices, warranties, and relationship issues.
• Analyze inventory, cost, lot sizes, reorder points, lead times, safety stock, item classes, supplier assets, and replenishment rules.
• Execute RFx activities, negotiate pricing and terms, support category strategies, and recommend supplier, transportation, or expediting alternatives.
• Collaborate with sourcing, supply chain management, planners, project managers, and other departments to resolve purchasing issues and improve supplier value, quality, and service.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in purchasing, planning, or a related supply chain function.
• Understanding of supplier sourcing strategies, terms and conditions, and the commodity markets supported.
• Strategic, analytical, organizational, negotiating, planning, problem-solving, prioritization, and time-management skills.
• Effective written and oral communication skills across internal and external leadership levels, with the ability to engage others to resolve issues.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, manage multiple projects, meet schedules, and distribute timely and accurate data.
• Ability to maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record for required travel of up to 25%.
• Valid, independent US work authorization is required; H-1B visa or permanent residency sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• APICS or another relevant certification.
• Experience buying balance-of-plant materials for gas power generation projects.
