Buyer (Manufacturing)

Location: Holdrege, Nebraska, USA; onsite role

Company

Manufactures light, heat, power, and air equipment for rental, construction, special event, mining, and oil and gas markets.

What you will do

• Execute and optimize purchasing and procure-to-pay processes.
• Coordinate supplier demand forecasting, capacity planning, replenishment, inventory management, and procurement transactions.
• Monitor supplier on-time delivery, purchase orders, material returns, receiving inspections, and invoice resolution.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities through alternative sourcing, make-versus-buy analysis, volume pricing, and supplier evaluations.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels using plan for every part (PFEP) and resolve issues delaying material deliveries.
• Coordinate engineering change orders with suppliers and internal functions while acting as an SAP super user when assigned.

Requirements

• Associate degree in a related field or 3 years of related supply chain experience.
• At least 1 year of purchasing, planning, or related experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and experience managing shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving, contract negotiation, project management, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Holdrege, Nebraska, USA.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or Supply Chain Management.
• APICS or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) credentials.
• Previous experience with SAP or an equivalent ERP.
