Buyer (Supply Chain)

Location: Holdrege, Nebraska, United States; onsite

Company

Manufactures light, heat, power, and air equipment for rental, construction, special event, mining, and oil and gas markets.

What you will do

• Purchase components and execute standard procure-to-pay processes.
• Coordinate supplier demand forecasting, capacity planning, replenishment, inventory management, and procurement transactions.
• Manage supplier on-time delivery, purchase order performance, non-conforming material returns, invoice resolution, and related data.
• Identify preferred suppliers and recommend cost-saving opportunities, including make-versus-buy analysis and alternative sourcing.
• Plan optimal inventory levels using plan for every part and resolve issues delaying material deliveries.
• Coordinate engineering change orders with suppliers and internal functions while supporting purchasing activities in SAP.

Requirements

• Associate degree in a related field or three years of related supply chain experience.
• At least one year of purchasing, planning, or related experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Problem-solving, contract negotiation, project management, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage shifting deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand and walk regularly and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or Supply Chain Management.
• APICS or Certified Purchasing Manager certification.
• Experience using SAP or an equivalent ERP system.
