Senior Data Scientist (AI)

Location: Hybrid in New York or the San Francisco Bay Area

Annual salary: $193,000–$250,000 USD, adjusted by location, experience, skills, and market conditions. Full-time offers also include bonuses and equity.

What you will do

• Lead the scoping, development, and deployment of statistical and machine learning solutions for complex operational problems.
• Work with clients and delivery leaders to frame ambiguous business challenges and translate technical insights into measurable outcomes.
• Build, test, and deploy machine learning models for dynamic production environments.
• Analyze large datasets, design experiments and A/B tests, and evaluate model and product performance.
• Partner with software engineers and data scientists to integrate models into deployable systems and build reusable development tooling.
• Mentor data scientists and establish best practices for code quality, experimentation, and model evaluation.

Requirements

• 6+ years of hands-on data science experience, including client-facing or forward-deployed work.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong Python, SQL, NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch, and TensorFlow skills.
• Experience taking models from prototype to production and working with statistical modeling, experimental design, model evaluation, and data debugging.
• Experience with large-scale datasets and distributed tools such as Spark, plus familiarity with GCP, AWS, or similar cloud environments.
• Strong communication, clean and testable coding practices, an entrepreneurial mindset, and willingness to be on-call for customers.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with MLOps practices, including model tracking, versioning, and reproducibility.
• Experience contributing to multi-model systems or pipelines built by larger data science and engineering teams.
