Sr. Hardware/Software Installation Technician

Location: Norfolk, Virginia, United States; on-site. Contractor site with 0%-10% travel possible and possible off-hours work for releases and outages.

Salary: $75,000-$85,000 per year.

What you will do

• Prepare and deliver Installation Design Plan and As-Built Drawing packages in accordance with MSC and American Bureau of Shipping standards.
• Provide technical troubleshooting, fault isolation, and fault remediation during system installations and CRQ implementation.
• Support facility and system installations, modifications, changes, physical and logical system installation, component activation, and migration.
• Support de-installation, deactivation, technology upgrades, and refreshes.
• Review and provide Pre-Installation Test and Check-Out procedures for engineering activities serving as test beds before LRIP and FRP.
• Develop detailed Rollback Plans for engineering activities, including rollback to prior MSC system baseline platforms when LRIP installation is not feasible.

Requirements

• Active DoD Secret clearance.
• One of the following certifications is required: Security+, CCNA, CSA+, GSEC+, or SSCP.
• High school completion is typically expected.
• At least 5 years of experience or equivalent relevant work experience. Each year of work experience may substitute for each year of required education.
• Ability to perform standing, walking, repetitive motion, hand and finger use, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, balancing, and pushing or pulling as required.
