Director of Operations, Terminals (Midwest Region)

Location: Onsite in Argo, Illinois, United States; 50% travel and field work required, with flexibility for extended hours and emergency or time-sensitive matters outside standard business hours.

Salary: USD $165,200–$247,800 per year.

What you will do

• Oversee approximately eight liquid bulk terminal operations across the Midwest, including responsibility for approximately $41 million in budgeted EBITA.
• Lead approximately 160 employees across multiple sites and 4–6 union affiliates, including hiring, staffing, performance feedback, training, and development.
• Manage employee safety, safety programs, environmental permitting, union negotiations, and emergency operational matters.
• Oversee service, maintenance, capital, DOT, warehouse, tank farm, inventory, parcel, and bulk liquid handling assets.
• Develop customer relationships and service quality, support business growth, and collaborate with the commercial group.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, departmental objectives, processes, systems, and KPIs for inbound and outbound operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, industrial engineering, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in the DOT petroleum and petrochemical bulk terminal industry.
• Experience running multiple sites and bulk/liquid handling facilities.
• Experience leading an hourly workforce in an industrial setting.
• Experience managing and maintaining bulk liquid handling assets and marine operations.
• Strong project management skills and experience managing customer relationships through quantitative service management.
• Knowledge of PC systems and related company applications; strong organizational, prioritization, multitasking, analytical, communication, leadership, and team-building skills.
• Customer-oriented, detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work with others in a fast-paced environment.
• Successful completion of a drug screen and background check; valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
