Business Architect-2 (Banking)

Location: Dallas, TX, United States; office-based. Specific work arrangements will be provided by the hiring team.

What you will do

• Define and evolve enterprise architecture strategies with commercial business units, aligned with banking goals.
• Develop business capability models, value streams, and process architectures for financial services.
• Lead application modernization, including legacy-system assessments, cloud migration strategies, and adoption of microservices, APIs, containers, and modern platforms.
• Collaborate with enterprise architects, solution architects, engineering teams, product leaders, and business partners to support cohesive delivery.
• Evaluate vendor products, develop architectural recommendations, and facilitate workshops covering capability gaps, regulatory impacts, and transformation opportunities.
• Support strategic planning, investment prioritization, portfolio governance, regulatory compliance, and evaluation of emerging technologies such as AI, cloud-native platforms, and low-code tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 7 years of experience in IT architecture or business analysis within banking or financial services.
• Experience leading application modernization initiatives in a regulated environment.
• Strong understanding of banking operations, products, and the regulatory landscape.
• Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or BIZBOK and business capability modeling.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence strategic direction.

Nice to have

• TOGAF, CBAP, Certified Business Architect, or PMP certification.
• Experience with core banking transformation, digital onboarding, open banking, and cloud-native architectures.
• Familiarity with architecture tools such as LeanIX, Ardoq, or Sparx EA and agile delivery models.
