Principal Solution Architect (Banking)

Location: Atlanta, United States; significant travel is required, especially during program inception and key milestones.

What you will do

• Lead architecture for the largest and most complex banking programs in the region.
• Translate business goals into secure, scalable, resilient, and maintainable target architectures.
• Define transition paths, architecture trade-offs, and major design decisions across the transformation lifecycle.
• Own the architecture story in pre-sales, from discovery through contract, and remain engaged during critical delivery stages.
• Provide design reviews, reference architectures, and escalation support to implementation teams.
• Create reusable architecture patterns, share field learnings with Product and Engineering, and represent hirify.global in senior customer, analyst, and partner discussions.

Requirements

• 10+ years of hands-on experience designing large Java platforms in production.
• Strong experience with Spring, Maven, modern CI/CD tooling, service-oriented architecture, and microservices architecture.
• Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks, MVC patterns, and REST API design using RAML and/or OpenAPI.
• Deep experience with enterprise integration patterns, integration frameworks, application servers, databases, load balancers, and high-availability deployments.
• Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate effectively from senior engineers through C-level executives.
• Based in Atlanta, United States, with significant travel required.

Nice to have

• Experience delivering solutions for large financial services organizations, particularly retail or commercial banking.
• Production experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, containers, and Kubernetes at scale.
• Experience with CQRS, event sourcing, event-driven integration, API gateways, integration platforms, and identity systems in banking.
• Industry speaking or publishing experience in banking architecture.
