Sr Production Underwriter National Territory (Remote Chicago area)

Location: Remote Chicago area; based in Illinois, United States, with travel to assigned agency partners and approximately 5% automobile travel.

Salary: USD $111,000–$144,000 per year, plus incentive plan eligibility.

What you will do

• Work with agents to write new profitable business, achieve agency goals, and provide support during agency vacancies or periods of high workload.
• Market and underwrite small-business and large-account policies according to underwriting criteria, classifications, standards, and company philosophy.
• Make consistent underwriting decisions, follow pricing philosophies, and provide communication and service through digital technology.
• Monitor agency growth, profitability, new-business opportunities, policy count, share of wallet, and compliance with company initiatives and procedures.
• Build professional relationships with agents, regional underwriting, claims teams, and corporate departments while maintaining continuous two-way communication.
• Promote the use of Selective systems, including CLAS, PLUS, and e-Select; support book roll opportunities, training, and underwriting team coverage when needed.

Requirements

• 6+ years of underwriting, marketing, or field underwriting experience.
• Highly developed marketing skills and an entrepreneurial, hands-on approach.
• Superior communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• High achievement orientation, strong organizational skills, self-motivation, proactivity, flexibility, and the ability to work independently.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internal business software, with the ability to maximize technology for productivity.
• Valid state-issued driver's license in good standing and ability to drive an automobile.
