Senior Engineer - Hydraulics

Location: Peoria, Illinois, USA 61639; onsite position.

Salary: $115,000–$135,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead or perform engineering projects involving the development, maintenance, and support of components, systems, products, and services.
• Design and validate hydraulic systems supporting vehicle steering, braking, suspension, and hoist functions.
• Develop robust and scalable hydraulic architectures integrated with high-bandwidth vehicle networks and over-the-air update frameworks.
• Perform engineering investigations, calculations, tests, and evaluations, providing conceptual and strategic solutions.
• Improve engineering processes and support compliance with global design, product safety, and engineering standards.
• Assist project management with project planning and hydraulic system design and validation execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or an equivalent relevant discipline is required.
• Experience in international assignments is required.
• Sound knowledge of fluid power fundamentals and controls technologies.
• 12+ years of experience in engineering design, machine application, or the mining industry, with a strong focus on hydraulic systems and components in mobile equipment.
• Proficiency with simulation software such as Matlab/Simulink, AMESim, and/or Automation Studio.
• Proficiency with computer-aided design tools.
• Participation in effective Change Management implementation.

Nice to have

• Master of Science degree.
• Certified Fluid Power Engineer or Specialist certification.
• Participation in implementing Lean Engineering principles.
• Professional registration and/or membership in committees or technical societies.
