Full Stack Software Engineer (Java)

Location: Columbus, OH; hybrid work with required in-office days on Tuesdays and Thursdays each week.

Salary: $120,000–$135,000 per year, plus a 5% variable annual bonus and potential RSU grant.

What you will do

• Own features from concept through production.
• Design, build, and evolve Java services, modules, and APIs supporting high-volume tracking, data, and commerce workflows.
• Create and maintain screens that configure and drive backend data processing.
• Make technical decisions across service boundaries, relational data, asynchronous processing, reliability, and operational performance.
• Investigate and resolve production issues and integrate external APIs through clear, reliable interfaces.
• Contribute through design discussions, code reviews, mentoring, and continuous agile improvement.

Requirements

• Solid understanding of Java 8+, Spring frameworks, and Spring MVC.
• Experience with SQL, MySQL or another relational database management system, and JDBC.
• Expertise in vanilla JavaScript, HTML, CSS, DOM manipulation, and RESTful APIs.
• Comfort working in the Linux terminal and using command-line tools to troubleshoot systems.
• Clear communication and collaborative problem-solving skills, with a record of helping teams deliver high-quality software.
• Working knowledge of security practices including JWTs, protection against XSS, and prevention of SQL injection.

Nice to have

• Applied experience with Vue.
• Experience translating requirements and stakeholder feedback into features and building interfaces from design mockups such as Figma.
• Production delivery experience with CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions and CDNs for serving web assets.
• Experience building applications on public cloud platforms and using cloud-native or serverless technologies, preferably Google Cloud.
• Thoughtful and effective use of AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code.
• Affiliate & Partnerships Industry Fundamentals Certification by PXA.
