Full Stack Engineer (Java/Spring)

Location: Fully remote within the United States. Legal authorization to work in the US is required, and visa sponsorship is not available. The role supports a federal government contract and requires the ability to obtain and maintain a favorable Public Trust determination.

Salary: $120,000–$140,000 per year.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain Java and Spring features, services, APIs, and Oracle-backed applications.
• Develop new functionality, integrations, automated tests, and cloud- and container-based applications for a modern replacement platform.
• Deliver fixes, patches, security updates, vulnerability remediation, and production stability improvements in Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Tomcat environments.
• Investigate help desk escalations, reproduce issues, identify root causes, validate changes, and communicate solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Support federal-system integrations, data migration, cutover activities, reporting, and ad hoc data requests.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, code reviews, cross-training, CI/CD deployments, and rollback activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of professional full stack software development experience.
• Production experience with Java, Spring, relational databases and SQL, Linux server environments, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience with automated testing, Git-based version control, CI/CD pipelines, live production support, and Agile/Scrum teams.
• Ability to build accessible interfaces meeting Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 AA requirements.
• US work authorization and eligibility to obtain and maintain a favorable Public Trust determination are required; visa sponsorship is not provided.

Nice to have

• Federal government software delivery experience.
• Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, cloud.gov, Apache Tomcat administration, or application server tuning.
• JasperReports, Crystal Reports, Grafana, Prometheus, or Loki experience.
• Experience with legacy-to-modern platform migrations and accessible interface development.
