Technical Owner, Internal Business Systems (Quickbase)

Location: Remote, limited to candidates located in Latin America; strong overlap with Pacific Time required.

What you will do

• Map and maintain the client's Quickbase applications, including tables, relationships, formulas, reports, dashboards, roles, permissions, Pipelines, workflows, data quality, de-duplication, auditability, and performance.
• Work with sales, operations, and leadership to understand business processes and document undocumented rules.
• Build workflows and automations for intake, follow-up, handoffs, approvals, reminders, deadlines, trip processes, recurring checks, reporting, and exception handling.
• Design and build integrations between Quickbase and CRM, email, telephony, transcription, document, finance, vendor, and travel services, including source-of-truth definitions, synchronization, record matching, conflict handling, and failure recovery.
• Build dashboards, role-specific workspaces, and web-based internal tools, and decide which capabilities belong in Quickbase, custom software, or another system.
• Apply AI to transcription, extraction, classification, summarization, search, and drafting while protecting sensitive data through access controls, secure credentials, logging, monitoring, audit trails, staging, and documentation.

Requirements

• Strong relational database skills, including data modeling, keys, relationships, normalization, and data integrity.
• Meaningful experience building or maintaining a structured business system. Quickbase is strongly preferred; deep experience with Salesforce, another low-code platform, a custom ERP/CRM, or a complex relational application may also fit if Quickbase can be learned quickly.
• Experience with formula logic, multi-step automation, scheduled processes, workflow rules, and cross-system integrations.
• Real API engineering experience with REST, JSON, webhooks, authentication, data mapping, error handling, and retries.
• Strong production programming experience in at least one language, such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or PHP.
• Modern web development skills with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, plus experience with a frontend or full-stack framework.
• Sound production judgment, including testing changes, planning for failure cases, protecting live data, and using staging or controlled environments.
• Practical experience with modern AI or language-model APIs and familiarity with AI tools.
• Ability to explain technical trade-offs clearly to non-engineers, work independently with a remote team, take ownership from start to finish, collaborate effectively, communicate clearly, and pay close attention to detail.
• Advanced English and strong overlap with Pacific Time working hours.

• Quickbase certifications or a portfolio of Quickbase applications.
• Speech-to-text or transcription pipeline experience.
• Operational reporting and analytics experience.
• CRM integrations and data migration experience.
• Experience in travel, hospitality, events, logistics, or another operations-heavy service business.
• Security or privacy experience involving customer information.
