Head of Supply Chain & Manufacturing Strategy (Aerospace): Building and executing secure domestic drone supply-chain and manufacturing strategy with an accent on supplier development, onshoring, regulatory compliance, and vertical integration. Focus on evaluating make-versus-buy decisions, establishing multi-tier country-of-origin traceability, and translating product compliance risks into executive sourcing, cost, and market-access decisions.

Location: Remote; San Mateo, California, United States. Relocation assistance may be provided for eligible roles.

Annual base salary: $229,500–$302,500, plus stock options and benefits.

Company

hirify.global develops autonomous drones using artificial intelligence, hardware, and software for utility inspection, public safety, national security, and other applications.

What you will do

  • Lead the SkyForge strategy for domestic drone manufacturing, supply-chain development, onshoring, supplier development, and selective vertical integration.
  • Work with regulatory partners and policy stakeholders on NDAA, American Security Drone Act, Blue UAS, DDP, FCC, tariff, and country-of-origin requirements.
  • Set sourcing and supplier-development priorities with commodity teams, including decisions to develop suppliers, bring work in-house, or redesign around constraints.
  • Build and defend make-versus-buy and vertical-integration recommendations with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance, and engineering.
  • Maintain product compliance risk views, translate risks into schedule, revenue, and cost impacts, and brief leadership regularly.
  • Establish supplier-of-record decisions during NPI and design reviews and build multi-tier bill-of-materials traceability through tier three and beyond.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in supply chain, manufacturing operations, commodity management, or operations strategy, including at least 3 years in a regulated hardware environment where sourcing decisions had legal or contractual consequences.
  • Experience influencing component and supplier selection during design, NPI, design reviews, SPOR, or approved vendor list decisions.
  • Experience working credibly with both sourcing organizations and factories, including capacity, tooling, yield, and supplier qualification.
  • Accountable ownership of a multi-tier country-of-origin, supplier-compliance, or trade-compliance program.
  • Personally built and defended a make-versus-buy or vertical-integration analysis, including capex and ramp assumptions.
  • Track record of turning technical findings into executive decisions and changing engineering or sourcing decisions without formal authority.
  • FAA Part 107 certification is required for certain positions and strongly encouraged for all hirify.global employees within the first 60 days.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of NDAA §889/§848, country-of-origin and substantial-transformation analysis, Buy American domestic-content tests, or DFARS and FAR flow-downs.
  • Background in in-house manufacturing, UAS, aerospace and defense, defense electronics, or EMS and contract manufacturing.
  • Commodity experience with batteries and cells, motors and magnetics, imaging or thermal sensors, or PCB and PCBA.
  • Experience establishing production lines or bringing outsourced processes in-house.
  • Experience with Blue UAS or Green UAS submissions, or DCMA or DCSA assessments.
  • Experience developing domestic or allied-country suppliers from scratch.

Culture & Benefits

  • Individual contributor role at hire with a path to building a small team as the program grows.
  • Regular briefings to the leadership team and involvement in capital-allocation decisions.
  • Paid vacation, sick leave, holiday pay, 401(k) savings plan, and company health-insurance plans for eligible regular full-time employees.
  • Stock options and comprehensive benefits for regular full-time employees.
  • Multidisciplinary and inclusive environment focused on diverse perspectives and complex engineering solutions.

Hiring process

  • The role reports to the Head of Hardware Operations and partners with Regulatory, Manufacturing Engineering, Global Supply Managers, Program Leads, Trade Compliance, Finance, and executive leadership.
