Full Stack Java Engineer — Workforce Management (WFM)

Location: Remote; listed location is Toronto, Ontario, Canada

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support scalable cloud-native applications for Workforce Management, Customer Experience, and operational business processes.
• Build Java and Spring Boot backend services, React and TypeScript user interfaces, REST APIs, microservices, and Node.js supporting components.
• Design PostgreSQL data models and queries, integrations, messaging workflows, and event-driven solutions.
• Containerize applications and maintain Jenkins CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, quality gates, and repeatable deployments.
• Implement logging, metrics, tracing, and actionable error reporting while improving application performance, resilience, scalability, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with Product, UX, QA, DevOps, Architecture, and engineering teams through design sessions, code reviews, planning, and client-facing workshops.

Requirements

• 5+ years of full-stack software development experience with production applications.
• Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST services, persistence, security, and automated testing.
• Frontend experience with Angular or React, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, component-based design, state management, and modern testing practices.
• Experience with REST APIs, microservices, distributed systems, SQL, PostgreSQL or comparable relational databases, and containerized cloud applications.
• Knowledge of OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT, secure API design, Kafka or RabbitMQ, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, observability, and secure software delivery.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to produce technical documentation and participate in client-facing workshops.

Nice to have

• Experience with Workforce Management, Customer Experience, contact center, customer service, or workforce optimization solutions.
• Experience with AWS, Amazon Connect, FreeSWITCH, Kamailio, Twilio, CRM, HR, identity, payroll, or analytics integrations.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude.
