Senior Full Stack Engineer (TypeScript/React)

Location: Montreal, Canada; other location: Toronto, Canada

Base salary: USD 125,300–175,900 annually, depending on zone and candidate factors.

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate TypeScript services with NestJS across the Unified Ads Platform domain.
• Own APIs and data contracts for advertiser and publisher entities consumed by serving, billing, and reporting systems.
• Design relational schemas, migrations, and schema evolution strategies for large-scale data.
• Build event-driven integrations using Kafka and Google Cloud Pub/Sub, including transactional outbox and idempotent consumer patterns.
• Develop React and TypeScript interfaces for advertiser and publisher workflows and operate services on Kubernetes.
• Drive observability, testing, SLO ownership, code quality, and engineering standards while mentoring other engineers.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience building and operating production software across backend and frontend systems.
• Advanced TypeScript and experience with NestJS or a comparable modular Node.js backend framework.
• Strong data modelling, SQL, relational schema design, migrations, performance optimization, and API versioning experience.
• Experience with event-driven systems such as Kafka or Pub/Sub, including delivery semantics, ordering, and idempotency.
• Advanced React skills, including component design, state management, and performance optimization for data-intensive interfaces.
• Professional English communication is required for frequent written and verbal collaboration with global colleagues and partners.

Nice to have

• Experience with advertising, attribution, billing, or monetization systems.
• Infrastructure-as-code experience with Kubernetes-native resource management, Terraform, or service mesh.
• Experience with OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, design systems, or configuration-driven UI frameworks.
• Experience driving cross-team technical alignment or engineering quality initiatives.
