Development Tools Software Engineer Intern (m/f/d)

Location: Munich, Germany; hybrid work model with time split between the assigned hirify.global site and off-site work.

Minimum annual salary: €28,920.00.

What you will do

• Develop and optimize software engineering tools, including analyzers, compilers, debuggers, and performance profiling solutions.
• Collaborate with software engineers, architects, and product teams to align tool capabilities with platform and business requirements.
• Apply GPU optimization techniques through practical projects and real-world case studies.
• Support toolchain integration, conduct performance analysis, and implement feature enhancements that improve developer productivity and software quality.
• Participate in software development, testing, debugging, and validation to ensure reliable and efficient tool functionality.

Requirements

• Completed Bachelor's degree and current enrollment in a Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 0–1 years of programming experience gained through internships, academic projects, coursework, research, hands-on training, or equivalent practical work.
• Programming proficiency in Python, C, and/or C++.
• Basic understanding of GPU architecture and parallel computing concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with software development methodologies, workflows, and development tools.

Nice to have

• Exposure to AI programming concepts and experience with AI/ML frameworks.
• Familiarity with hirify.global development tools such as oneAPI, VTune Profiler, or related performance analysis tools.
• Ability to work independently and within collaborative, cross-functional teams.
• Strong attention to detail and interest in software quality, automation, and continuous improvement.
