Location: Utica, New York, United States; onsite work with on-air, public appearance, and field reporting duties. Flexibility to work any shift is required.

Hourly range: $16.50–$19.00.

What you will do

• Anchor evening weather coverage and produce and present weather reports across television, digital, and social media platforms.
• Write and deliver clear, concise weather stories, including daily web stories about the local forecast.
• Report from the field during weather coverage, producing packages, vosots, and other news content.
• Respond to breaking and severe weather events and other urgent newsroom situations.
• Coordinate weather programming and content through writing, copy editing, research, and collaboration with the weather team.
• Interact with viewers and users on social media and participate in promotional activities, including public appearances.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
• Fluency in English and excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to ad lib when required.
• Minimum three years of experience in weather reporting or anchoring; the required amount may vary by market size.
• Superior on-air presence and a strong understanding of meteorology with a proven track record of forecasting.
• Experience guiding, directing, and motivating others, including identifying developmental needs and coaching or mentoring others.
• Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines, and other office equipment.
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, listen effectively, understand problems, and collaborate on solutions.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Flexibility to work any shift.
