Lead Data Architect (AI/ML)

What you will do

• Lead and architect enterprise-wide system integration, data migration, transformation, data warehouse and data mart development, data lake implementation, and operations and maintenance.
• Develop and evaluate production AI/ML solutions using AWS and Databricks.
• Design relational and dimensional data models and lakehouse architectures for identity and biometrics data domains.
• Establish data governance frameworks and integrate disparate internal and external data sources to improve accuracy.
• Integrate AI/ML, data analytics, and entity resolution into DevSecOps architectures and CI/CD workflows, including model optimization and continuous validation.
• Mentor data scientists, data engineers, and database management staff while collaborating on secure handling of law-enforcement-sensitive data.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and the ability to secure a U.S. public trust clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, data science, engineering, mathematics, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of IT experience focused on enterprise data architecture, AI/ML, data engineering, and data management.
• 5+ years of experience implementing AWS and/or Databricks data solutions.
• Significant experience with Python.
• Proven experience leading and architecting enterprise-wide system integration, data migration, transformation, data warehouse and data mart development, data lake implementation and support, and operations and maintenance for a large enterprise.
• Proven expertise in relational and dimensional data modeling and lakehouse architectures.
• Advanced proficiency in statistical, programming, and/or engineering methods for building DataOps and MLOps pipelines for data analysis.

Nice to have

• Databricks Professional, AWS Solutions Architect, or AWS Data Engineer certification.
• Advanced degree such as a master’s degree or PhD in data science, statistics, computer science, mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Experience with PyTorch, scikit-learn, NumPy, Spark/Scala, Kafka, and PostgreSQL.
• Experience with Tableau and large-scale data visualization for executive and operational reporting.
• Prior USCIS, DHS, federal law enforcement, or national security data program experience.
