Cyber Security Senior Consultant (Secure by Design)

Location: Newbury, United Kingdom; hybrid, with office attendance expected 2–3 days per week and at least 8 days per month.

What you will do

• Carry out Secure by Design assessments and provide cybersecurity guidance to projects and business-as-usual activities across Consumer & Business and internal functions.
• Engage with business functions to understand future roadmaps and ensure appropriate cybersecurity involvement.
• Provide technical leadership and task direction to Secure by Design managers, specialists, and Cyber Security Champions.
• Work with project teams to produce solutions aligned with internal security policies, standards, and security architecture.
• Embed effective security practices into Agile, DevSecOps, and CI/CD processes, and provide design input and reviews.
• Specify security testing, manage vulnerability remediation, assess risks, support regulatory initiatives, and ensure integration of security baseline controls.

Requirements

• Competence in understanding network designs and equipment configurations used for IT and telecommunications solutions.
• Competence in applying security policies and principles from security architecture to real-world scenarios.
• Understanding and application of risk management principles.
• Effective communication skills to influence stakeholders and explain complex security requirements in simple terms.
• Stakeholder management experience, including acting as the go-to person for project issues affecting Corporate & External Affairs teams.
