Business Information Security Officer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Leeds, United Kingdom; hybrid work with three days per week in the office

What you will do

• Advise assigned business units on cybersecurity and build trusted relationships with business leaders.
• Embed security considerations into business initiatives, projects, decision-making, and innovation.
• Translate cybersecurity risks into business impacts and practical recommendations.
• Support risk assessments, control selection, vulnerability management, governance forums, and remediation activities.
• Support compliance and certification programmes including ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials, NIS2, GDPR, PCI, and related frameworks.
• Represent business priorities in enterprise cybersecurity discussions and support customer audits, trust discussions, and security responses.

Requirements

• Significant experience in information security, cybersecurity, IT risk, or governance.
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, risk management, and security control implementation.
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience engaging and influencing senior stakeholders and executive leaders.
• Knowledge of ISO 27001, GDPR, PCI DSS, NIST, or CIS frameworks and related audit or regulatory requirements.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies, infrastructure, applications, and modern security practices; relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CRISC are advantageous.
