Managed Service Lead (Network Security)

Location: Hampshire, Farnborough, United Kingdom; onsite 5 days per week. Right to work in the United Kingdom and eligibility for UK Government and contractual personnel security requirements are required. Some duties may be subject to nationality and applicable residency requirements.

What you will do

• Lead the operational delivery, governance, and assurance of DMZ and boundary security managed services.
• Oversee secure gateways, firewalls, cross-domain solutions, data escalators, and interfaces between security domains.
• Ensure service availability, resilience, performance, compliance, and alignment with defence security standards and NCSC guidance.
• Manage and develop multidisciplinary teams of security engineers, analysts, and service specialists.
• Act as the senior escalation point for security incidents, coordinating response, recovery, and stakeholder communications.
• Drive Zero Trust adoption, network segmentation, advanced monitoring, threat detection, and continual service improvement.

Requirements

• Significant experience leading cyber security, network security, or boundary security managed services in enterprise, government, or defence environments.
• Strong expertise in firewalls, secure gateways, cross-domain solutions, guard technologies, secure data transfer, and network security.
• Experience managing service delivery, operational risk, major incidents, change management, accreditation, and continual service improvement.
• Knowledge of security governance, assurance, compliance, risk management, NCSC guidance, Cyber Essentials Plus, and ISO 27001.
• Experience leading and developing high-performing technical teams and engaging with architects, customers, accrediting authorities, suppliers, and senior stakeholders.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, ITIL, PMP, CCNP Security, PCNSE, CCSE, or Fortinet FCSS/NSE are applicable.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting Zero Trust, network segmentation, and security architecture modernisation initiatives.
• Knowledge of Palo Alto, Check Point, Fortinet, Cisco Firepower, SIEM, logging, and threat detection platforms.
