Process Engineering Manager (AI)

Location: Schaffhausen, Switzerland; in-office position

hirify.global Agricultural Solutions develops crop protection solutions and is building a new Technical Center and R&D hub in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, opening in early 2027.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Process Engineers and Senior Process Engineers, including performance management, resource planning, priority setting, and succession planning.
• Define and prioritize an engineering innovation portfolio aligned with New Product Introduction, process technology roadmaps, and improvements to established products.
• Lead process engineering from early-stage development through pilot validation, scale-up, commercial industrialization, and technology transfer.
• Drive innovations in manufacturing capacity, yield, process safety, process robustness, sustainability, and cost competitiveness.
• Oversee conceptual engineering and basic design for capital projects supporting new products and manufacturing innovations.
• Establish engineering standards and process safety practices while providing technical direction, reviewing complex engineering work, and strengthening cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline. A PhD is an advantage.
• 10+ years of industrial experience in agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, fine chemicals, or specialty chemicals, including process development, engineering design, scale-up, and commercial manufacturing.
• Proven line-management experience leading experienced engineers, including performance management, coaching, resource planning, and technical capability development.
• Demonstrated experience in New Product Introduction, technology transfer, process scale-up, and significant process innovation projects.
• Strong knowledge of chemical engineering, process design, process safety, techno-economic assessment, and manufacturing optimization.
• Experience with process safety management and risk assessment methodologies, including PHA, HAZOP, and LOPA.
• Experience with process simulation and engineering design tools.
• Ability to lead senior technical specialists, challenge engineering solutions, prioritize competing projects, and drive innovation.
• Strong cross-functional leadership and communication skills in a global organization.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

• PhD in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proficiency in Aspen and AutoCAD.
