Environmental Management Specialist (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve the Environmental Management System, including processes, responsibilities, documentation, objectives, and controls.
• Identify, assess, and manage environmental legal and regulatory requirements; maintain the environmental legal register and compliance evaluation process.
• Coordinate environmental permits, notifications, regulatory obligations, and communication with relevant authorities.
• Manage environmental topics covering waste, water, emissions, hazardous substances, resource consumption, and other environmental aspects.
• Assess environmental impacts, risks, and opportunities; establish mitigation and monitoring measures.
• Plan and perform audits, inspections, compliance assessments, corrective actions, and environmental KPI improvements while collaborating with Infrastructure, Production Execution, Legal, Engineering, Procurement, and other departments.

Requirements

• Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, or a comparable field.
• Several years of professional experience in environmental management or environmental compliance, ideally in a manufacturing or technical environment.
• Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and operational environmental requirements.
• Practical experience with Environmental Management Systems, including ISO 14001 and/or EMAS.
• Experience with environmental permitting, compliance assessments, audits, or regulatory interactions.
• Ability to independently establish processes and structures, with strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Confident communication style and ability to work effectively with different stakeholders.
• Solution-oriented mindset with a strong focus on ensuring environmental compliance.
• Fluent in English and German.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace, automotive, manufacturing, chemicals, or another highly regulated technical industry.
