Head L&H Pricing China

Location: Beijing, China. Hybrid work model with an expectation of being in the office at least three days per week.

What you will do

• Lead pricing governance for new and in-force Life & Health business in China, covering costing assumptions, terms and conditions, pricing accuracy, margin, capacity, and risk appetite.
• Partner with Client Markets, Underwriting & Claims, Solutions, Valuation, and regional and global colleagues to execute China’s L&H strategy and support sustainable, profitable growth.
• Steer portfolio performance through experience studies, financial and monthly performance reviews, and recommendations on portfolio actions, product appetite, and in-force management.
• Improve end-to-end pricing and portfolio processes while ensuring compliance with Group guidelines, local requirements, internal standards, and the Code of Conduct.
• Lead, engage, and develop the Pricing team, build a succession pipeline, and represent hirify.global at actuarial, industry, and regulatory forums.

Requirements

• Significant experience in Life & Health insurance or reinsurance pricing, including pricing methodologies, product economics, risk assessment, and portfolio management.
• Proven leadership experience developing actuarial talent, setting direction, and leading teams through change.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen, with the ability to translate experience, portfolio, and market data into business recommendations.
• Ability to collaborate across functions and influence senior internal and external stakeholders in a complex, matrixed environment.
• Understanding of China’s L&H insurance market and regulatory environment, with a strong commitment to governance, risk management, and professional standards.
• Qualified actuary or equivalent relevant professional qualification or experience.
• Experience with experience studies, in-force management, product development, or actuarial research.
• Established network within the Chinese insurance, actuarial, or regulatory community.
• Proficiency in English and Mandarin, both written and spoken.
• Experience working across local, regional, and global teams.
